Dyade 2018/3 Yoga - for stillhetens skyld

Dyade 2018/3 Yoga - for stillhetens skyld

Norsk Yoga-skole fyller 50 år, og vi bruker dette nummeret av Dyade som en anledning til å reflektere over yogaens kjerne.

Norsk Yogaskole underviser i klassisk, meditativ yoga.

Yoga - For the Sake of Silence

The Norwegian School of Yoga is 50 years old, and we use this issue of Dyade as an occasion to reflect on the core of yoga. The Norwegian School of Yoga teaches classical, meditative yoga. Its basic view is that yoga has to do with introspection, silence and meditation, in addition to all the beneficial bodily effects that the present age so readily values. This inner aspect is often given little weight in modern yoga. Several writers share their thoughts - on body ideals, meditative photography, impulse dance, resistance to yoga and more. Some are matter-of-fact, others more emotional. We are especially pleased to include a long interview with Are Holen, who founded the Norwegian School of Yoga, the first yoga school in Norway.

Webinar: A new phase for research on meditation?

From laboratory experiments to everyday stress

By Svend Davanger, Professor; Erik Ekker Solberg, Medical Doctor and Vilde Haakensen, Oncologist and Cancer Researcher

Why do people meditate? Stress management and relaxation, health issues, personal development, or spiritual curiosity are all frequently reported reasons. Some practice meditation occasionally, but those who continue to meditate throughout life have experienced that meditation contributes with something valuable. Not all these experiences are reported in medical studies. Nevertheless, it is interesting to look closer at recent scientific research on the effects of meditation on bodily and mental health. Three presentations will be given in this webinar:

  • An overview of medical research on Acem-meditation
  • Stress and meditation among youth and students
  • Meditation effects on anxiety and depression

Kreativitet og meditasjon

- Kanskje nytt, men nyttig?
Ledighetsmeditasjoner som Acem-meditasjon stimulerer tankevandring. Den frie tanken er vesentlig for kreative prosesser. Betyr det at ledighetsmeditasjoner gjør deg mer kreativ?
